TSU Opera Workshop Soars in Inaugural Year with Recording at KTSU Studios

The Texas Southern University (TSU) Opera Workshop wrapped up its remarkable first year with a triumphant recording session at the KTSU 90.9 FM studios in Houston. This accomplishment marks a significant milestone for the young program, showcasing the dedication and talent of its participants.

The workshop chose Act II of Johann Strauss’ beloved operetta, “Die Fledermaus,” for this historic recording. Under the direction of the esteemed Dr. Cassandra Black, the student performers brought the lively music and comedic storytelling of the operetta to life. Dr. L Zidaru provided masterful accompaniment on the piano, further enriching the recording experience.

Details regarding the release of the recording are yet to be announced, but the TSU Opera Workshop’s success in its inaugural year is certainly cause for celebration. This program serves as a valuable platform for nurturing young operatic talent and fostering a deeper appreciation for this treasured art form.
