We just keep having bragging rights here at Texas Southern University because TSU student and creator of “Hot Girl Summer,” Megan Thee Stallion, has made history as the first rapper to appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.
Megan, tennis star Naomi Osaka and model Leyna Bloom will all be featured on separate covers as part of this year’s “community” focused theme.
“It definitely was a dream for me to be on Sports Illustrated Swimsuit,” the 25-year-old told CNN over email. “And to be the first female rapper? Who else would they pick? I am just happy they chose the Hot Girl Coach!”
Megan keeps stacking receipts proving she is worth all that more with hit songs like “WAP,” a collaboration with Cardi B, and “Savage,” a collaboration with Beyonce, tearing up the charts. In addition to her songs keeping TikTokers in front of their cameras around the clock looking for viral fame.
She’s also landed major deals with Coach and Fashion Nova, and is a bonafide branding magnet.
But what we love about her the most is she remains humble, and has been giving back to women, college students and the community as a whole.
