KTSU 90.9FM Represents Proudly at the Inaugural Public Media Growth Conference in Chicago 

KTSU 90.9FM made history this summer with strong representation at the inaugural Public Media Growth Conference in Chicago, showcasing the station’s innovative approach to community engagement and audience growth. 

Community Engagement Lead Ariel Pirela represented KTSU on the national stage, facilitating an insightful workshop titled “Transitioning Traditional Audiences While Building a Diverse Talent Pipeline.” The presentation highlighted KTSU’s groundbreaking strategies for bridging the gap between legacy listeners and digital-era streamers, as well as the transformational impact of the ACCESS Program in cultivating the next generation of broadcast talent. 

The session was overwhelmingly well-received by public media leaders nationwide, earning a 4.29 out of 5 rating. Attendees praised the session as “very informative” with “really excellent insight,” calling the presenter “one to watch.” KTSU remains committed to elevating local stories and leading national conversations around innovation and diversity in public media.
