Get To Know Your On-Air Hosts: Kyle Turner November Spotlight

KTSU is excited to bring our listeners closer to the music with our “Get to Know Your On-Air Hosts” series. Each month, we highlight one of our talented on-air hosts to give you a better sense of who they are beyond the airwaves.

For this month, we are thrilled to shine the spotlight on Kyle Turner, host of The Jazz Club (Monday-Wednesday 2-6pm and Thursday 2-5pm).

Q: What inspired you to start your show?

Kyle Turner: I guess what inspired me to start my show is the same thing that motivates me to continue hosting every week. #1 Is the opportunity to present the music I love so much- jazz, on a weekly basis. #2 Being an inspiration to others and put a smile on music lovers faces both old and young through the music. #3The opportunity to stand on the shoulders of the many KTSU on air personalities that came before me. #4 Ernest Walker and Donna Franklin encouraging me, supporting me and allowing me to do a jazz show that embraces all styles of the music we affectionately call jazz! Both old and new!

Q: What is something your audience would be surprised to learn about you?

Kyle Turner:  Many folks don’t know that I love and embrace all styles of music! Yes, I am considered a jazz man, but I enjoy all genres of music! My Dad once told me “There is no such thing as bad music, but there is music that is played badly!”

Q: Any closing thoughts/motivation for our readers and listeners?

Kyle Turner: Listeners and Readers stay wide open! You never know what you might discover that you may fall in love with and become passionate about!  Regardless if it is music or life don’t be so quick to judge! KTSU listeners thanks for your continued support of The Jazz Club! I am committed to continue to bring you the best in contemporary and classic jazz every opportunity I get! Peace and Blessings to you all!

Thank you so much, Kyle Turner, for taking the time to share your powerful story with our audience!
