From Trunk or Treat to Future Tiger: How an 11-Year-Old Star Named “Sky” Lit Up KTSU 90.9 FM

Houston, TX – November 2025 What began as a festive Trunk or Treat celebration at Texas Southern University turned into an unforgettable moment of discovery one that reminded everyone at KTSU 90.9 FM that greatness has no age limit.

From Trunk or Treat to Future Tiger: How an 11-Year-Old Star Named “Sky” Lit Up KTSU 90.9 FM

On a bright October afternoon, the university’s Staff Council welcomed families from across Houston to campus for its annual Trunk or Treat event. As part of the celebration, KTSU offered a behind-the-scenes tour of the historic radio station to a lively group of 6th-grade students from The Imani School. The tour was meant to be fun and educational. What no one expected was that it would introduce KTSU to one of the most dynamic young voices of this generation.

Her name? Skydan P. but everyone calls her Sky.

A Moment That Stopped the Studio

While exploring the station, Sky shyly mentioned that she made music. With the kind of confidence that only comes from purpose.

Minutes later, speakers inside KTSU’s studio filled with the upbeat, inspiring sounds of “Adventures of Sky.” The reaction was immediate. Staff leaned in. Students cheered. And right there, live on the airwaves of 90.9 FM, an 11-year-old Houston native heard her music broadcast for the first time.

What was supposed to be a simple station tour became a defining moment for Sky, and for everyone who witnessed it.

More Than a Song: A Calling

As we learned more about her, it became clear that Sky is no ordinary young lady. She is a youth speaker, motivator, kidpreneur, singer, producer, and brand ambassador, all before entering middle school.

At just eight years old, she began producing her own beats and writing her own lyrics. Her debut single, “Adventures of Sky,” isn’t just a song it’s the anthem for the Adventures of Sky Club, her empowerment community for children ages 6–13. Members pray together twice a week, explore entrepreneurship, practice positivity, travel, and uplift one another.

Sky’s leadership and magnetic personality have placed her on stages nationwide. Most recently, she delivered a message of encouragement before hundreds of thousands at a major convention in Memphis, captivating the crowd with wisdom well beyond her years.

Her words, like her presence, carry light.

Rooted in Faith, Family, and Purpose

Sky’s gift is nurtured by the strong foundation she comes from. She credits much of her growth to the love and support of her grandparents, Drs. Dan and Joan Williams, and to her church family at The Anointed Word of Christ, where she actively serves in youth outreach and ministry.

She also remains grounded by the everyday joys of childhood her classmates, her best friend Terrence, and her beloved dog Teddy, who, according to Sky, “never misses a camera moment.”

Her guiding mantra, passed down from her aunt, reflects the maturity of a young leader already choosing her own path:

“The difference between ordinary and extraordinary are the life choices you make.”

A Future Tiger in the Making

Perhaps the most heartwarming revelation from her visit to KTSU was her future dream:
Sky plans Lord willing to attend Texas Southern University.

For her, TSU represents more than a school. It represents leadership, confidence, culture, and community all values she already embodies.

The Trunk or Treat event may have lasted only a few hours, but Sky’s presence left a lasting impression on the KTSU family. She came as a visitor but left as a future Tiger one we cannot wait to welcome home.

As Sky continues releasing new music, inspiring youth, building her brand Princess Sparkles, and spreading positivity around the world, KTSU proudly celebrates the moment her journey intersected with ours.

And something tells us… this is only the beginning.
